McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre promotion – Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) apply to the McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre promotion (the “Promotion”) and will prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including in-store or online advertising or promotional materials including bottle neck collars. Entry instructions are deemed to form part of the Terms and by participating all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these Terms. Please retain a copy of these Terms for your information.

1. Promoter: Belfast Distillery Company Ltd, Innovation Factory, 385 Springfield Road, Belfast, BT12 7DG, Please do not send entries to this address.

2. Eligibility: Promotion open to residents of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) aged 18 years and over, except employees and families of the Promoter and its affiliate companies, agencies and anyone professionally connected with the Promotion. Excludes residents of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

3. Promotional Period: The Promotional Period shall end at 23:59 GMT on 31st January 2024.

4. Entry Instructions

4.1. Entrants should

purchase any promotional bottle of McConnell’s Irish Whisky 5 Year Old, or McConnell’s Irish Whisky Sherry Cask Finish, during the Promotional Period.

Head to intl.mcconnellsirishwhisky.com/backinbelfast/ and enter the unique code found on the inside of the bottle neck collar, as well as name and email address. Please retain your original itemised till receipt and original neck collar showing the winning unique code as you may need to provide them to claim your prize

4.2. All promotional codes are unique, and each code can only be entered once. Any further attempts to enter the code will result in disqualification.

4.3. Entrants can purchase multiple promotional products throughout the Promotional Period and can enter a total of three times across the Promotional Period. Any entries above this amount will be automatically disqualified.

4.4. No purchase is necessary to enter the Promotion. Entrants who have not purchased a promotional bottle in accordance with clause 4.1  should send their name and email address to: Win with McConnell’s Belfast Distillery Company Ltd, Innovation Factory, 385 Springfield Road, Belfast, BT12 7DG to receive code by email to enter into intl.mcconnellsirishwhisky.com/backinbelfast/ (you are responsible for paying sufficient postage on your entry). Entry is limited to one unique code per person per week, and a total of three during the Promotional Period.

5. Prizes

5.1. There 2 main prizes of McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre promotion. Each main prize includes:

Roundtrip Economy Class flight routing from major international airport in London to Belfast International Airport, including all taxes, fees and one item of checked luggage per person (maximum 2 persons) (not available to prize winners from Northern Ireland)

Roundtrip private airport transfers in Belfast (not available to prize winners from Northern Ireland)

2 nights’ hotel accommodation in Belfast, with a four-star rating, based on sharing a double or twin room, including daily breakfast

Private tour and whisky tasting experience at The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre, including roundtrip private transfers from Belfast City (maximum 2 persons)

One-day admission to the Crumlin Road Gaol Tour in Belfast, including one-hour private tour by attraction guide (maximum 2 persons)

Evening food tour around Belfast, led by a local guide, including multiple tastings and Whisky samples (maximum 2 persons)

Three-course dinner and drinks at a restaurant in Belfast on one evening, up to a maximum value of £90 per person (maximum 2 persons), including service charge

(together the “Prizes”)

5.3. Any entries received after the end of the Promotional Period will not be eligible to win the Promotion .

5.4. Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered for any of the Prizes. In the event of unforeseen circumstances (including but not limited to where continuing restrictions resulting from COVID-19 impact the Promoter’s ability to offer the Promotion), the Promoter reserves the right in its absolute discretion to substitute any of the Prizes for an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

5.5  The Prizes do not include any additional costs and expenses save as expressly detailed in the Prizes.

6. Winner Selection

6.1. The winner of the Promotion will be selected at random by an automatic computer process from all valid entries on 15^th February 2024. The winner will then be contacted by email by 1^st March 2024. and further details about how to book the Prizes  will be provided. Where a winner fails to respond to this email within 10 working days of the date of the initial email from the Promoter, a new winner be chosen at random via the same process.

6.2 The surname and county of the winner will be published at www.mcconnellsirishwhisky.com for 3 months after the 15^th February 2024. If you do not want your surname and county included on the winner list referred to above, please email info@belfastdistillery.com prior to the closing date of the promotion.

7. Additional Prize Conditions for The McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre

7.1. The winner must be one of the travelling parties (maximum of two persons per each of the Prizes)

7.2. The McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre must be booked and travelled within two years of the winner receiving their notification email and once booked any amendments will be at the expense of the winner.

7.3. The winner and companion(s) are responsible for obtaining a current and valid passport and any other relevant travel documentation required for travel to Northern Ireland at their own expense. The winner must also make sure that the travelling party has any required vaccinations, health certificates, visas and other documentation necessary to complete the itinerary at the time of travel.

7.4. The winner will need a current and valid credit/debit card with sufficient available funds in order to check in at the hotel for security deposit purposes.

7.5. Travel insurance must be taken out prior to travel by the winner, with such evidence as required by the Promoter to be provided.

7.6. The winner of the McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre and their companion must be aged 18 or over.

7.7. Unfortunately, the McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre will be forfeited if:

The winner is unable to take the prize within the dates specified by the Promoter;

The winner has not obtained the proper travel documents by the date specified by the Promoter;

The winner has any immigration complications which prevent them from entering, leaving or travelling within the dates specified by the Promoter; or

The winner has any medical, legal or any other reason that would prevent them from accepting and participating in the McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre.

7.8. In the event that the Prizes are forfeited by any winner, a new winner will be chosen at random.

8. Personal Data

8.1. Personal data which is provided by entrants on entering the Promotion will be processed and stored in a database by Belfast Distillery Company Ltd, Innovation Factory, 385 Springfield Road, Belfast, BT12 7DG. By providing personal information, entrants consent to the processing and storage of personal information Belfast Distillery Company Ltd, Innovation Factory, 385 Springfield Road, Belfast, BT12 7DG.

8.2. Once all Prizes have been administered, all personal data will be deleted unless specific consent has been given for Belfast Distillery Company Ltd, Innovation Factory, 385 Springfield Road, Belfast, BT12 7DG to send further communications. Where this consent has been given, Belfast Distillery Company Ltd, Innovation Factory, 385 Springfield Road, Belfast, BT12 7DG retain personal data. Consents can be withdrawn or amended at any time by emailing info@belfastdistillery.com  If an entrant withdraws consent to the storage and processing of their data for the purposes of administering the Promotion, they will also be withdrawn from the Promotion itself. All data will be processed by the Promoter in accordance with its privacy policy. 

8.3. Belfast Distillery Company Ltd, Innovation Factory, 385 Springfield Road, Belfast, BT12 7DG will book the McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre on behalf of the winner. By entering the Promotion, the winner and their companion agree to the processing of their personal data by Belfast Distillery Company Ltd for this purpose. All data will be handled in accordance with Belfast Distillery Company Ltd’s privacy policy.

8.4. In the event that a reasonable request is made, including by the Advertising Standards Authority or any other competent body, the Promoter will provide the surname and county of residence of the winner of the McConnell’s Win a Trip to The J&J McConnell’s Distillery and Visitor Centre.

9.General

9.1. The promoter accepts no responsibility for entries or prize claims that are lost, delayed or damaged for any reason whatsoever.

9.2. Incomplete entries or those not in accordance with the entry instructions will not be accepted.

9.3. Winners agree to take part in marketing activity in respect of the Promotion. By entering the Promotion, entrants agree to the unrestricted use of post-Promotion publicity for the Promoter’s own purposes in all activities including, without limitation, marketing and promotional activities worldwide including use on the Promoter’s websites and social networking platforms.

9.4. Entrants agree that, to the extent permissible by law, the Promoter and its affiliates, agents assume no liability for injuries, losses or damages or any kind to property or persons, including without limitation death, resulting in whole or part, directly or indirectly, from the management of or mechanics behind the Promotion, entry into the Promotion, the acceptance of the Prizes, and any acts or omissions of the winner and travel companions. Nothing will exclude the Promotor’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.

9.5. In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of the promoter, or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or an error (human or computer) affects or could affect the proper operation of this Promotion or the awarding of prizes, and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the Promotion or these terms and conditions, at any stage, but will always endeavour to minimize the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.

9.6. The Promoter reserves the right to exclude any entries that it reasonably believes to be fraudulent or based on misconduct.

9.7. The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries including but not limited to asking for proof of purchase, address, age and identity details (which they must provide within 14 days of request) and to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement and/or refuse further participation in the Promotion and disqualify the participant where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these Terms or any instructions forming part of these Terms or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating in the Promotion or won using fraudulent means. The Promoter will be the final arbiter in any decisions, and these will be binding and no correspondence will be entered into in relation this clause.

9.8. These Terms (whether such disputes or issues are contractual or non-contractual in nature, such as claims in tort, for breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Northern Irish law. Entrants hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Northern Irish courts to settle any such dispute or issues.
